Emma trained as a ballet dancer for
many years before going to university to study history. After
qualifying as a corporate lawyer, she began to experiment with
other forms of dance - jazz, ballroom, salsa and contemporary.
Then one day she lost her heart to
Argentine tango and spent a couple of years perfecting her technique
with regular trips to Buenos Aires to train with the maestros.
She now performs tango and runs her own tango/salsa salon in
London, bringing prominent teachers and performers to London
to teach.
Emma is currently a lawyer with Merrill
Lynch in London but tries to keep up with all dance forms, at
all levels, whilst promoting dance amongst the non-dancing community,
believing that if people develop their creative potential they
are much more fulfilled and balanced. She is also a Trustee and
director of JazzXchange, a company formed by Sheron Wray, former
dancer with Ballet Rambert, which combines Jazz, contemporary
and Latin dances with live music composed by prominent Jazz musicians.
Emma can be contacted at emma@criticaldance.com.
Feel free to send her your details on dancing clubs and events
(swing, jazz, tango, salsa
..) for dissemination.
