| Barb
Thompson, aka BabsLights, is a lighting designer for dance. For
ten years she served as resident lighting designer for Dance Alloy
(Pittsburgh, PA) and designed annually for Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
She continues to serve as lighting designer for Halau Hula Ka No`eau
(Kamuela, HI), and Southold Dance Theater (Southbend, IN). She has
been nominated twice for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's Artistic
Achievement Awards for lighting design. She is Production Manager
for Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.

Behind the scenes she has worked
with many regional and national companies including Miami City
Ballet and the Joffrey Ballet, and served as production lighting
designer for the 1998 Region Dance America Festival, Northeast
Division, where she had the pleasure of working with Alun Jones.

Designing original works commissioned
by Dance Alloy allowed her to collaborate with many of today's top
contemporary choreographers, including: Sarah Skaggs, Ann Carlson,
David Roussève, Sean Curran, Elizabeth Streb, Tere O'Connor,
Mark Taylor, and David Dorfman.
