	Once again, we are pleased to welcome the dance writing community to what we hope will be a memorable weekend. Conference chairman, Mindy Aloff, has put together a program designed to touch on a variety of issues that face us as we approach the 30th anniversary of this organization. 	On behalf of Barnard College, I heartily welcome members of the Dance Critics Association to the Barnard campus. It is hard to imagine a better site for a gathering of like-minded dance lovers than this small liberal arts college for women at Columbia University, where both dance history and dance criticism courses have long been part of the curriculum. Year round, the campus is a mecca for dance within Manhattan, with a flourishing Department of Dance, where hundreds of students study each semester. "Summer Dance at Barnard," now in its third year, will be in session while your conference is taking place. Enjoy the strains of piano accompaniment coming from the studios and the expanses of greenery and flowering magnolias, and feel free to peek at the classes in your free moments. The Wollman library offers a quiet respite for serious research, video-viewing, or a quick read of The New York Times. I'm sure that the panoply of students, sights, sounds, and eats along Broadway will recall your undergraduate years. 	DANCE BOOK DISPLAY June 21-22 The DCA conference will again offer a book display featuring the latest dance titles from a wide selection of publishers. DCA SILENT AUCTION JUNE 21-22 The DCA conference's annual silent auction helps to support the association's general fund. Rare books, and other treasures will be offered for bidding. Drawings will be held on both days of the conference. Help support DCA.
	DCA SENIOR CRITICS LECTURE AND LUNCHEON SATURDAY, JUNE 21 This year, DCA honors Francis Mason, editor of Ballet Review. Mr. Mason will give a lecture at 12:15 p.m., followed by a luncheon in his honor at 1:15 p.m. Admission to the luncheon is $25.
	DCA ANNUAL GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING SUNDAY, JUNE 22 12:30-2 p.m. This year's membership meeting is being held over lunch. Conference attendees are being offered the option to pre-order a boxed lunch from the Barnard College catering department. These lunches include your choice of tuna salad, chicken salad, turkey or assorted cheeses served on a kaiser roll; chips, fresh fruit, cookies and your choice of bottled water or a soda. Cost for the boxed lunches are $10 each and should be included with your registration payment. Please check the appropriate space on the registration form and indicate your sandwich and beverage choice. Deadline to pre-order boxed lunches is June 1. No boxed lunch orders will be accepted after June 1.
